Black Bean Brownies
This recipe is one of my FAVORITE dessert recipes. And yes yes, I know you’re thinking “ew, black beans in my brownies?” - It sounds strange, but truth is, you won’t even taste ‘em!
Make these for yourself or for your loved ones - don’t tell them about the secret ingredient until after they try it. They won’t believe it!
Also, pro tip: don’t eat too many at once cuz we all know what happens when we eat too many black beans hehe
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups black beans (cooked)
2 tablespoons cacao powder
½ cup oats
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
½ cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
½ teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Peanuts, walnuts or almonds (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
Grease a small pan with coconut oil.
Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and nuts in a food processor and blend until fully mixed.
Stir in the chips and nuts, and pour mixture into pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool before serving. These brownies are best after spending a few hours in the fridge.
